Winter Weekends

Winter Weekends at Pierce’s Inn are the Best!

It’s a winter wonderland. And when done with the outdoor adventures, cozying in around the wood stove and or fireplace with your favorite winter beverage is nirvana.

Activities at and Around The Inn

Pond hockey

There is nothing like pond hockey 100’ from your house! We have guests who enjoy an hour or two of skating around and warming by the fire pit, and we have some seriously enthusiastic hockey playing groups who make a whole weekend tournament out of 3v3 hockey sessions. Hockey under the lights is total magic!

Back Hill Skiing

Right out the door are the Lord’s hill trails. We have 372 vertical feet of old school narrow but fun trails for alpine skiing. Hike up or use touring gear for skinning up. We most always have a fire pit half way up for a rest and hangouts. Experienced skiers will have more fun than intermediates and beginner skiers should probably just stick to snow shoes…

Snow Shoeing

We have walking trails out the back door and various fire pit zones along the way when groups want trudge then hang in the woods around a fire pit. One mile down the road from Pierce’s Inn are the Trescott Water Supply Lands trails. The Trescott is a well marked and mapped trail network on a previously closed tract of 1400 acres.

X-C Skiing

Cross Country touring/trudging can be done in the Trescott Tract. The trails are not groomed/no tracks set. It’s a little rough but gorgeous! Dartmouth College maintains the Oak Hill X-C trails only 10 minutes away, which are challenging (note the word “hill”). The college also maintains the trails on the golf course which are better suited for people wanting some more moderate terrain.

Alpine Skiing

The Dartmouth Skiway is 17 minutes away. Mt. Sunapee is 40 minutes away, Pico, Killington, Okemo are all about an hour away.

Winter Fat biking

Boston Lot Lebanon, NH. These trails are really fun in the winter. There are a lot of people who volunteer to maintain the trails for fat biking. 18 minutes away.
